- Does United Way of Kosciusko County fund Planned Parenthood or abortions?
No. United Way of Kosciusko County does not fund Planned Parenthood or use any funds for medical procedures that terminate pregnancy.
- What if the United Way of Kosciusko County funds a program that I don't like?
The United Way of Kosciusko County Campaign raises funds that support approximately 50 programs. If you are worried about your donations going towards a specific program, you can specify one category you would prefer to support (Education, Income or Health), or designate your funds to a specific program.
- I don't live in Kosciusko County. Why should I give?
United Way supports local services. United Way services are available to people who live or work here in Kosciusko County. If you like, you can choose United Way's Designation option and designate all or part of your gift to a United Way in another community.
- I never use the agency services. Why should I give?
You may not need help from United Way programs today, but you or someone you care about may need help in the future. United Way funded programs assist people dealing with problems and issues every day. Your financial and volunteer support ensures that help is available.
- What if I feel pressured to give?
We strongly believe that giving is a personal choice. In fact, we encourage peer solicitation and employee meetings specifically to avoid the possibility of coercion. We give interested individuals the opportunity to be informed with our mission. Pressure to give is contradictory to our operating principles. If you feel pressured to give, we recommend you discuss your discomfort with your coordinator.
