VISION COUNCILS

Vision Councils are made up of local volunteers, issue experts, and Board members working together to distribute resources and recognize and address new community issues/needs.

These councils will have approximately 9 members.

These team members evaluate program details to assure United Way investors their gifts are being used effectively and efficiently in Kosciusko County.  After the program reviews, the vision councils present their funding recommendations to the Community Impact committee, then to the United Way Board, who makes the final funding decisions.

The three Vision Councils are as follows:

Education Vision Council:

United Way of Kosciusko County is committed to our goal of raising the high school graduation rate. Our strategy to achieve this will be to fund programs that deal with school readiness and early academic achievement.

Income Vision Council:

United Way of Kosciusko County would like to increase the number of working families and individuals that are economically self-sufficient.  This goal will be achieved by funding programs that make a difference in employability, family management, or family stabilization.

Health Vision Council:

United Way of Kosciusko County recognizes health as an important aspect of a person’s life. We are in the process of defining direction, goals and programs in this area in regards to an improved specific funding focus.
